Yesterday noon when I went out and purchased lunch from Ralph's Market from down the street I thought about how long it's been since I had lasagna. Mmmm...lasagna sounds gooooood. So I picked up the ingredients to make it. Not the hardest thing in the world to make from scratch and I've already made it quite a few times since college so I had the ingredients committed to memory. Funny thing though, I forgot the tomato sauce! HA! That's okay since I picked it up on my way home from the Japanese Market which was even better because they have them by 1/2 bottles! Why can't they sell that in the regular American markets? These guys are a little expensive if you think about price per ounces but at least it wouldn't go to waste. I can never use up a whole jar of sauce!
So, I got home and started to put my ingredients together. Which was fairly hard considering 1/2 my counter and all of the sink was taken up by dishes and pots/pans. Yes, I gave into the need of having space to work so I washed them all. I usually do dishes 2x week because I don't accumulate much every night and don't do it daily because, well I'm a lazy putz. I don't mind washing dishes, but putting them away is a pain! Since I have limited drying space, washing dishes = putting dried dishes away = urgh!
Okay, time for some tube while I wash and cook. Oh yes, if anyone ever comes over to my place and wonders where the remote is, it's usually on the kitchen counter. I don't watch TV much and when I do it's usually because I'm cooking and need background noise. I was right on time for the nightly news. Other than the anchor being different, they told of the SAME NEWS! Grrr, Obama McCain etc etc etc. . . b o r e i n g! Actually I regard political news just about the same as I do about the war in middle-east. Good for a while, and TOTALLY ANNOYING after 2 weeks of nothing else. And now I get double dosage, usually to escape the news of the war I turn to another station but now we have the election I can't escape it. Finally, I tuned into ABC who had something else to talk about. Usually I'm an NBC watcher, but ABC may have won me over if they keep up with keeping political and war stories for the first 10 minutes and other news for the last 15 minutes. Much better than NBC who is dragging out all the analysts and poking the subject to death.
Where was I? Oh yes, my meal. My the time the turkey sausage was done Teen Jeopardy was on, YEY! I like Teen and Celeb Jeopardy because I don't feel nearly as dumb. It still amazes me how fast these Teens were answering the question, but I still can get most of the answer, while in regular Jeopardy I can usually only answer a handful. I made my cheese filling and off to layering we go! Actually, it wasn't as much layering as the ones I made at home usually am because I was making a mini version. I don't want to be eating this for the next 2 months! Even as it is, I think I'll be eating this for the whole week, by then I'd be screaming NO MAS!
It takes a while to bake, so I heated up some left over turkey broth and threw some 冬粉 in there and vola! Instant meal. Which filled me up, Jeopardy was over, so I went and hopped on WoW for less than 5 minutes before the sleepiness set in. Hopped off, and decided to curl up with a good book. ZONK! Before I knew it, it was 8:30pm. I gave up the fight. Did my nightly routine, took the lasagna out of the oven (I had turn the oven off before hopping on WoW), then went to bed.
I slept through 'til my 7am unwelcome alarm from my neighbors. Stupid little kids who can't seem to shut up and the Mother who has the most piercing voice of all. About 15 minutes of this then back to slumber land for me, then my real alarm went off and I still didn't want to come out of bed today. What is wrong with me? I slept for nearly 12 hrs and I wanted to sleep some more. Even now, after my breakfast and I've been up over an hour and I still want to crawl back to bed. *Sigh* this is going to be a very long day.
