Learning how to drive

Why can't Southern Californians learn how to DRIVE in the rain? It's something I noticed about them. They're so used to sunny weather that once you throw a sprinkle at them, it's like the city comes to a halt and they FREAK! Everything goes down to a crawl. Give them a whole week of steady rain and they actually start to resume normal driving speed, then a week of sunshine followed by a sprinkle and we're back to square one again.

This morning I was practically riding my breaks. Just as I thought we were going to go above 25 mph in a 45 zone, someone up ahead slows and causing the rest of us to break. AHHH!!!! FRICK! PEOPLE PEOPLE PEOPLE! I PROMISE YOU! Your car is not going to hydroplane in a sprinkle like this! It's hardly enough to even have to turn on the windshield wipers! Can we PLEASE go at LEAST 35mph? Oh yeah, YOU! 4 cars above that just slowed down, GET OFF YOUR FREAKIN' PHONE AND DRIVE! AHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...............*mental breakdown*

For a group of drivers who normally don't even blink at going 50-60mph in the 45 zone, I'm surprised what a little rain does to these drivers. I pray that no snow ever shows up, I fear these people would just park their car in the middle of the street dumbfounded and walk home. Not that it'll ever snow here, but still. . .

Side note: People who cannot even pretend to drive normally while talking on the phone, GET OFF THE ROAD!

Jeopardy and the lasagna that wasn't eaten

Yesterday noon when I went out and purchased lunch from Ralph's Market from down the street I thought about how long it's been since I had lasagna. Mmmm...lasagna sounds gooooood. So I picked up the ingredients to make it. Not the hardest thing in the world to make from scratch and I've already made it quite a few times since college so I had the ingredients committed to memory. Funny thing though, I forgot the tomato sauce! HA! That's okay since I picked it up on my way home from the Japanese Market which was even better because they have them by 1/2 bottles! Why can't they sell that in the regular American markets? These guys are a little expensive if you think about price per ounces but at least it wouldn't go to waste. I can never use up a whole jar of sauce!

So, I got home and started to put my ingredients together. Which was fairly hard considering 1/2 my counter and all of the sink was taken up by dishes and pots/pans. Yes, I gave into the need of having space to work so I washed them all. I usually do dishes 2x week because I don't accumulate much every night and don't do it daily because, well I'm a lazy putz. I don't mind washing dishes, but putting them away is a pain! Since I have limited drying space, washing dishes = putting dried dishes away = urgh!

Okay, time for some tube while I wash and cook. Oh yes, if anyone ever comes over to my place and wonders where the remote is, it's usually on the kitchen counter. I don't watch TV much and when I do it's usually because I'm cooking and need background noise. I was right on time for the nightly news. Other than the anchor being different, they told of the SAME NEWS! Grrr, Obama McCain etc etc etc. . . b o r e i n g! Actually I regard political news just about the same as I do about the war in middle-east. Good for a while, and TOTALLY ANNOYING after 2 weeks of nothing else. And now I get double dosage, usually to escape the news of the war I turn to another station but now we have the election I can't escape it. Finally, I tuned into ABC who had something else to talk about. Usually I'm an NBC watcher, but ABC may have won me over if they keep up with keeping political and war stories for the first 10 minutes and other news for the last 15 minutes. Much better than NBC who is dragging out all the analysts and poking the subject to death.

Where was I? Oh yes, my meal. My the time the turkey sausage was done Teen Jeopardy was on, YEY! I like Teen and Celeb Jeopardy because I don't feel nearly as dumb. It still amazes me how fast these Teens were answering the question, but I still can get most of the answer, while in regular Jeopardy I can usually only answer a handful. I made my cheese filling and off to layering we go! Actually, it wasn't as much layering as the ones I made at home usually am because I was making a mini version. I don't want to be eating this for the next 2 months! Even as it is, I think I'll be eating this for the whole week, by then I'd be screaming NO MAS!

It takes a while to bake, so I heated up some left over turkey broth and threw some
冬粉 in there and vola! Instant meal. Which filled me up, Jeopardy was over, so I went and hopped on WoW for less than 5 minutes before the sleepiness set in. Hopped off, and decided to curl up with a good book. ZONK! Before I knew it, it was 8:30pm. I gave up the fight. Did my nightly routine, took the lasagna out of the oven (I had turn the oven off before hopping on WoW), then went to bed.

I slept through 'til my 7am unwelcome alarm from my neighbors. Stupid little kids who can't seem to shut up and the Mother who has the most piercing voice of all. About 15 minutes of this then back to slumber land for me, then my real alarm went off and I still didn't want to come out of bed today. What is wrong with me? I slept for nearly 12 hrs and I wanted to sleep some more. Even now, after my breakfast and I've been up over an hour and I still want to crawl back to bed. *Sigh* this is going to be a very long day.

Islands, Yoda, and the new hard drive

This weekend was fairly lively, by my standards. For others it may be just another day, but for me to even be willing to go outside my 5 mile radius bubble it was fairly large. My cousin Jane (yes relatives tend to get our names mixed up) called me up this past week and we made a date for the weekend to meet up for lunch. I chose to drive over to her side (Manhattan beach) since she's more familiar with where to go for food and such.

The weather turned out nice so after a meal at Islands where I did som
ething I rarely do, ordered an alcoholic beverage to go with my chicken tacos, we went for a walk around Manhattan beach with her dog named Yoda. A cute dachshund! I found out why he was named Yoda while sitting at the store watching my cousin browse the store. I finally got to really look at him from the front. With small dogs we tend to see them from the top so it's not nearly as noticeable but when I was face to face with him, his ears were HUGE! Everyone seem to like him, he growls at bigger dogs like he could totally take them on, but ignores little ones that come across his path. I purchased a few items, one for Oliver that I'm hoping will fit his body. I couldn't exactly tell from the photographs what his chest size is so we'll have to see.

After we parted, I made a stop at Fry's Electronics. I refuse to go to the Best Buy in Torrance on PCH anymore! I went in with the goal today of looking at what's on the shelves in regards to motherboards and with a resolve of b
uying a new external hard drive to clear off all the stuff I got on my internals. I've been toying with the idea of reformatting and cleaning up, but *urgh* so many programs to re-upload that it gave me a headache. WoW itself would take nearly 3-4hrs with all the patches. I don't want to think what GW + WoW together would take me.

Okay, so about my new baby:
Dear readers, I've officially gone Tera! Byte that is, how in the world can 1 single user ever plan to fill up that much space? Lets just say it isn't as hard as it looks. So now I have a baby tower, I need a name for it, any suggestions?
