Botanical Garden

Mother came for a visit this weekend. Well, she's technically still here cooking up a storm in the tiny kitchen in my flat. I thought to take today and tomorrow off to hang out with her but thought better of it and only took off tomorrow. I'm trying to think ahead where I have to take 2 days off at Thanksgiving. Wouldn't want to have the General Manager on my case about taking so many days off every month. I love it when mother visits though, she makes really yummy food and I tend to get healthier during the short term she's around and when I eat the stuff she's cooked for later. Then I go back into my bad eating habits. *sigh*

Anyhow, so over the weekend we went shopping, watched the President's Cup on NBC, and also visited the local Botanical Garden which happens to have a Orchid show going on. So we visited. The sun was so bright I thought I was going to explode from the headache it was giving me. Working all day in an office then going straight home and only coming out at night has it's disadvantages when relatives come to visit. They expect you to do things in normal daytime hours and actually be outside. Oh the terror~

Seriously, the last time I spent time in the sun was during my drive down to San Diego which was SEVERAL months ago and I was mostly in a car. Thus the little jaunt in the sun was nearly the end of me.
