March 9th
Woke up ready to go, but fell back into bed and just slept until a little after 8. Today's plan is to do some last minute shopping especially picking up my prescription, I'm hoping that they'll have it on hand. I know that the pharmacy I use back home has to order it for me 'cause it's at such a weird dosage or something along that line. Worse comes to worse I know that my trusty and always helpful pharmacist will mail it to me in Taiwan.
They say that medicine is always less expensive outside of the country, I don't mind paying less for it. But my worries are a) will they have it b) where do they get it from, is it safe? Those kind of things makes me want to make sure I have my meds before I leave the States, always better to be safe than sorry!
So, Walter took the car to work on the Farm. He's suppose to be back "later", I wonder what "later" is. Terry told me to bring out the swim suit so we can wade in the water by the beach later. I had hope to avoid this, I told her I had enough of ocean water from the wedding, but she just gave me the look and so I thought better of it. We'll see how it goes.
Several hours later:
I lost...the ocean it called to me. I frolicked in the water and payed the price, I was feeling queasy after words but all turned well when we stopped in at Costco and I was able to purchase Sprite (not as good as a 7-Up but it works in a pinch).
We shopped like crazy, I was able to fill my prescription and we came home to begin packing. Mother bought the Aeromattress that Father wanted, the only one available was a double decker queen size. Oh dear PI! It was heavy, we're hoping we got it all under 50 lbs, our luggage that is. For dinner Terry was learning how to make Chawamushi, one of my all time favorite foods. Unfortunately, water to egg ratio was a little confused and it took forever to cook. Didn't have nearly enough salt in it either, which meant of course I accidentally put too much salt in mine when I tried to sprinkle "a little" in my last bowl. Dumped a bit too much in and I'm now paying the consequence of it, my tongue feels double sized and I know I ate too much egg for my own good considering I have to fly soon.
Anyhow, I guess this will be my last post until I get to Grandmother's place later this week. Maybe I'll venture forth and find an Internet cafe in Taipei.
So until the next time I find time to sit and gather my thoughts boys 'n girls this is your keyboard friend from the kingdom of potatoes Tappy, tapping off for the night.
Toodles!
